Madagascar Wildlife experiences : everything you need to know to travel differently (part 1)

Renowned as the top destination for nature lovers, Eastern Madagascar is a classic stopover to get a glimpse at Madagascar wildlife. The forest is the home of fantastic creatures and the coast has the privilege to welcome giant humpback whales on winter season. This is the first part of our series dedicated to wildlife experiences in Madagascar : everything you need to know to travel differently. Today, let’s take a close look at the eastern classic destinations, yet timeless and remained our first recommendation for any atypic travellers.

The journey

Easily accessible because of its closeness to the capital, the Andasibe National Park is the first recommended place for nature lovers. The sight of green scenery is very soothing, thanks to the beautiful nature around : mountain, forests, natural swimming pools. Primary forest (untouched forest) still thrives in this area and the journey is pretty adventurous but the reward is worth it ! Wellness care like a relaxing massage is highly recommended after an immersive day in the nature.  Still on the east of Madagascar, you can complete your trip and take a relaxing stay by the Pangalanes Channel, 3 hours from Andasibe and one hour and a half by boat. The Akanin’ny Nofy is a lovely place to isolate from the stress and pollutions in cities. Calm, remote and close to the nature, the atmosphere is perfect to take a break.

The experiences

It mainly consists of discovering the two parts of Andasibe National Park walking, swimming and wildlife watching combined with pleasant night strolls. On the other hand, relaxing activities  in the perfect environment are totally exquisite: photograph, massage, farniente on the beach, a lunch in the middle of the forest, swimming in natural pools…

The season

On winter season from june to july, the destination is very crowded because of the vacation period. From september to december, the nature is very welcoming : the orchids are blooming, baby lemurs are there, precisely on november and it is also the best moment for birdwatching.
