Best travel tips ever for the 21st century traveler

As a traveler, we want to experience more than what we live in our daily routine. As we invest money and time for traveling every year, we expect it to be the best travel experience of our lifetime. Today, we have concocted tips, travel advice for the modern traveler. Why modern traveler ? Because the information era and technology advancement have all impacted our life and our travel lifestyle. How we are living now is different to how we lived ten years ago, same for our travel habits. So what ? we embrace changes in order to find what we want and use them to experience travel without worries, unease and regrets. Also, we would view travel an investment for oneself. More importantly, we would make travel as an art of expressing our personality, our passions and our vision. Here are the seven travel tips to make all of these real.

Make a wish list

Before looking for destinations and travel companies, make a list of everything you want to happen in your next travel, how you want to feel and what you want to experience. It could be physical or material stuff like a certain type of accomodation or people with whom you want to take the trip. It could related to art or architecture or a culture, or something you are curious about. Everything.

Make a plan but stay flexible

Now make a plan with your travel operator, discuss with them what you want. If you could give them your wishlist, that’s great. Plan the essentials (cars, flights, hotels, your wishlist of places and activities) but make a room for changes. Don’t fill your travel with everything (you know the classic tours for the usual tourists, something that everyone should see/do). Let some time without activities or programs for you to have time to discover different things once on spot.

Try new things

Whether you are frequent traveler (travel 5 to 6 times a year) or not, it is always great to see different places so you could compare the experiences. This also has the advantage of giving you the choices later, on what’s your favorite, your least favorite destinations. Trying new things is also an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone, to  learn new skills, meet different people from different background, get to know different travelers and live adventures. But what is trying new things ? It could be traveling to a new, off the beaten track destination, staying in a genuine hotel concept, eating different cuisine, doing watersport activities, etc….

Gather memories in more creative ways

To gather the best memories of your trip, you must live it to its fullest. Take your time. Do what you really want. Once you are really absorbed in your activity, you feel like you are satisfied then take moments to picture the scenery or the activity in question. You can later add them to your story highlights on social media. Another way to keep the moments forever is to film the place you are and express how you feel about it, like a kind of news coverage. Last but not the least, bring a journal when you travel and write your feelings, your wishes and what you like the most everyday.

Keep a journal

Aside from what we have said before, cultivating the habit of journaling will give you sense of gratitude. It will help you clear out your mind about the journey, the time and understand more why the trip was satisfying to you or not. Also, you could always refer to your journal whenever you want, remember places you really like. On personal level, journaling is recommended to express your feelings and put your emotions on paper.

Dedicate time for wellness

Have you thought about feeling relaxed during and after your trip ? If you have already planned to take spa or other wellness care during your trip, that’s great. When planning the travel, we recommend you to find different wellness activities that the destination can offer, something special to the country you visit. To find out more, discuss with your travel operator. It could be a nature immersion in an exceptional place, or an impressive wellness package.
